As hostilities escalated into the spring of 2886, the newly formed Oceana Defence Committee searched for designs for a light armoured combat suit to equip security, second line and reconnaissance units. With tungsten in short supply, the ODC turned to a new high temper titanium armour for its new design. The new material, coupled to the recently developed HL45TR(L) engine, made for a lighter, faster, longer range, armoured suit with only slightly reduced protection.
