December 2888: The devastating effect of Centurions used in lunar resistance force operation "Blind Eye" does not go unnoticed by Earth resistance command. A complete set of Centurion parts which schematics is smuggled to Earth where IMA engineers adapt the design for Earth operations.

December 2888: IMA awards contracts to Stevens Engineering. Centurion's rocket jump/boost group is judged to be under powered in normal Earth gravity and is eliminated. Due to urgent need, plans for a boost/jump model utilising three Jumo004B motors are postponed. Chassis armour is increased with additional armour protecting vulnerable areas. A larger engine (HL95BT/k) powers a simplified drive-train with improved struts and a substantially heavier suspension. Renamed the CENTAUR, these prototypes carried either a rotary 30 mm gun or a 6.5 cm 5MW laser pulse cannon, a multiple rocket launcher and a chin mounted 3 cm laser.

January 2889: SE delivers thirty prototype CENTAURs on the eve of the NAFE raid on the Shutoral jump port at Denali.
