February 2888: Charged with developing a jump capable variant of the CENTAUR, MacGregor Aviation begins static and dynamic tests of a new system, codename PEGASUS. Powered by three MacCaskill 004 boosters (port, starboard and aft) and four M226 vectoring jets (fore x2, port and starboard), the PEGASUS was capable of jumps 5 metres high by 30 metres long, thus exceeding expectations.
MAFE placed an immediate order for fifty units, but only ten were delivered before production was halted due to an urgent need for 004 boosters for the J-60 fighter.
The ten units, pluse the converted test bed, were armed with twin 55 mm niary autocannon and assigned to the 5th Mountain Brigade where they proved indispensable in the "Smoke Mountain", "Prairie Fire" and "Battle for New Denver" offensives.
