Based on the proven articulate suspension of the Predator, the MULE was developed in late 2887 as a support and resupply vehicle for CENTAUR and PREDATOR units in mountain operations. Early in 2888 as an interim measure, several MULEs were converted to RAM configuration to allow fielding of weapons, such as the heavy L60 laser and the L75 binary cannon, too large for the PREDATOR turret. Conversion included a light armoured cab for the driver and a rudimentary gun shield, as well as a full traverse gun platform and leg armour. The MULE could carry 14 fully equipped light armour troops or four armoured suit infantry.
