With the SDR in retreat from New Canberra, the Mercenaries took every opportunity to harass them as they went. Sometimes they even got to try out some new equipment too...

The scenario depicts a scouting-in force unit of the SDR which stumbles into a Mercenary ambush, which will prove costly.



Date:
Late January, 2885

Map:
Use maps 2 and 3. Map 2 is the northern-most map, and should be placed on top of map 3, so that the bottom of map 2 is hex row xx14, while the top of map 3 is xx01.

There is a river on map 2, starting in hex 07. Hexes 0807, 1607 and 2007 are bridges.


Setup:
The SDR:
    Group 1
  • 6x TW 47 Kröte
  • 4x Ns 465 Neuspotter
  • 4x PKA Gustav (with 2 Panzerfausts each)
  • 10x PKA Heinrich
  • 2x Oskar
    Group 2
  • 6x PK40

The SDR start anywhere on map 3, south of the road/trail which starts in hex 07.
The SDR player must set up before the Mercenary player!

The Mercenaries:

  • 2x SAFS Raccoon
  • 10x SAFS
  • 10x Sdh 222F Sand Stalker

The Mercenaries may set up anywhere on map 2.

Game length:
12 turns

Victory conditions:
The German player must get at least 4 units off the northern side of map 2, and the Australian player must prevent this.

Special rules:
On any turn that a Raccoon is not employing ECM, the Germans will automatically call for reinforcements (group 2), which will appear on the following turn, regardless of whether ECM has begun again.
