The Chiaka was a powered tail-less glider designed for low level
reconnaissance flights over enemy held territory. A turbojet engine
powered it, and was test flown in November 2883. Because the AFS was in
use at that time, it was planned to use a modified suit for the pilot.
This would keep the aircraft's construction simple and still provide
protection for the pilot. The left arm laser was removed to add a
second manipulator with which to control the craft. In addition, an
in-flight refuelling drogue was added so that the range of the craft
could be extended. Finally, while 3 12.7 mm auto cannon were the crafts
main weaponry, it could always carry additional under wing stores and
ordnance.
