Image copyright by Kow Yokoyama. Because of the ease in which some SAFS managed to destroy the Pkh.103/1a Nutrocker, it was decided to remodel the unit to make it more effective. As well as equipping the unit with a heavier laser and more armour to withstand a hit from an SAFS, the unit was reshaped with the intent to make the turret not as easily destroy-able as its predecessor. This basic model was classified as the Pkh.103/2a Nutrocker II. Because the laser was also susceptible to the same faults as the earlier Nutrocker, the 2b was developed which removed the laser and replaced it with a 5.5cm high velocity gun and co-axial machine gun.
