The SAFS Achilles were designed to work as a team. They are both up-armoured SAFS, with special emphasis on armouring for the legs. The Achilles A was essentially just a standard SAFS with additional leg armouring and special explosive detection sensors. The Achilles B however, was unarmed and had two long manipulator arms. The Achilles B was an engineering unit, and the arms were designed to allow it to defuse explosives at a slight distance. It had stronger front armour than even the Achilles A, but then it was designed to be at the receiving end if any of the explosives detonated prematurely. Its other main role was in demolition work.
