The space type of the Super A.F.S., the Fireball, closely resembled the
original, with the addition of small-sized jet nozzles set into the
back. Despite appearances the structure, equipment, and function of the
Fireball was very different. The power system was routed primarily to
the jet system and not the legs. The armour was increased and the body
reinforced without regard to the increase in weight. The optical system
was removed in favour of extensive searching equipment. There are
additional changes, all of which made the altered Super A.F.S. the
ideal weapon in the space war.
The Fireball was created for the attack on SDR spy satellites in
October 2885, with an initial run of 3 models. With the Banana Boat
being able to these machines into orbit, the war theatre enlarged
considerably. With the success of the raids, mass production started on
the Fireball with only a few slight changes based on the experiences of
the action. The exhaust nozzles were enlarged slightly for more precise
attitude control giving much improved manoeuvrability in weightless
environments.
