HUNTER SIX is a self financed independent mercenary team operating autonomously, outside the auspices of, but with the blessing of both the IMI and the ODC. Comprised mostly of surviving members of Zeta unit, 1st System Marines (a highly skilled special mission insurgency/sabotage company made up mostly of volunteers), attached to 21st SM operating in the Venus Monds theatre during the Shutoral instigated Martian Civil War (2871-2876). When the Shutoral forces landed on Mars to "restore peace", Zeta Unit (the entire 22 survivors) resigned and went underground. Details about the Zeta Unit rebels are sketchy to non-existent from 2876 until 2885 when they made their presence known on Earth during the infamous Shutoral punitive attack on the civilians of Nels Gap. But, operations against the Shutoral bearing their modus operandi are known system wide during that period. It is believed that their enigmatic leader, known as Sandman, may have been a Zeta Unit officer or special operative. The actual number of Hunter 6 members is unknown, but since the Shutoral has occupied Eath and Mars, as well as fielding "pacification forces" on Earth's moon and nearly all other inner system colonies, Hunter 6 has continiously made their presence felt.
